How to turn any camera into a webcam for less than $13, no app needed

Here is a guest post from long time reader Duncan Dimanche on how to turn any camera into a webcam for $13, no app needed

So all you need is an HDMI video card costing only 13$ or even less. And you will also need to buy an HDMI cable from your camera to the HDMI female of the video card adapter. Settings that you need to change in your Zoom, Skype youtube live etc...

Video input: make sure that your camera is turned on and select the USB video input to use your camera as a webcam during live videos, zoom calls, and skype.

Audio output: also make sure that you have headphones and select those as the audio output.

For the audio input:

  1. You can choose the audio from the camera if you have a good audio setup
  2. You can choose your headphones mic if they have a decent mic
  3. You can choose your computer's audio but this is not the best choice (newer Macbooks have decent mics though)

I hope that this helps!
