The latest CIPA forecasts indicate that the shipments of digital cameras will fall in 2024 compared to 2023:
- All digital cameras: down 4% (7.41 million units)
- Interchangeable lens cameras: down 1.8% (5.89 million units)
- Cameras with integrated lenses: down 11.6% (1.52 million units)
At the same time, while the number of camera shipments is on the decline, the shipment value of digital cameras in 2023 increased by 4.9% from the previous year to 714.3 billion yen.
