New Casio G’z EYE (GZE-1) action camera launched in Japan

The previously rumored G’z EYE GZE-1 action camera is now officially announced in Japan with a 1/2.3″ 6.9MP CMOS back-illuminated sensor and full HD video (see the tech specs):

Casio to announce a new Exilim EX-ZR1800 camera

Casio will soon announce a new Exilim EX-ZR1800 camera that will be available in gold, black and blue and will have minor upgrades from the ZR1700. Casio is actually doing well in its point and shoot camera business thanks to a… $1,000 selfie camera

An interesting article from nikkei.com – Casio expects a record profit thanks to their TR series cameras designed for people to take better selfies. The price of those TR cameras is as much as a good DSLR camera (some models are priced at $949!) and they sell very well:
