DC.Watch spotted the 50MP Hasselblad H5D-50c medium format camera on display at the 2014 CP+ show in Japan. The official release should be in March:

The rumors I reported last month were true – Hasselblad just announced their new “elite” HV camera priced at €8,500 / $11,500. The new camera has a 24.3MP full-frame sensor and comes with a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 2,8/24-70 ZA lens ($1,998). Based on the specifications, the HV is most likely based on the Sony a99 camera ($2,798). […]

The […]
After Hasselblad quietly replaced its CEO (does this means the end of the Lunar and Stellar?), the company announced today the launch of the H5D-50c – the world’s first medium format camera with a 50MP CMOS sensor (medium format sensors are CCD). Some of the main advantages of the CMOS sensor are better ISO, faster capture rate […]
The Hasselblad Stellar camera based on the Sony RX100 was launched just few months ago and today the company announced three new “Stellar Special Edition” models, just in case the previous options were not fancy enough for you. Coming next is the Solar camera based on the Sony a7/a7r. Additional images and press release:
This is the Hasselblad Solar that will be based on the groundbreaking Sony a7 full frame mirrorless camera. Considering that the a7/a7r camera body costs between $1,698.00 and 2,298.00, the new Hasselblad Solar will probably be close to $10,000 depending on the selected materials. Update: Hasselblad announced a new camera called Lusso.
On October 1, 2013 Hasselblad will increase the price of their H system lenses due to higher manufacturing costs (maybe the real reason is to cover the losses from the Lunar and Stellar cameras). Here are the details: Until Sept. 30th Starting Oct. 1 Item Number Product Description Current MSRP New MSRP H-3023024 HCD 24mm […]
