What else is new?

Polaroid Socialmatic camera, which was shown as a concept last year, will be priced at $299 and will run on Android OS. New Sony Xperia smart phone is rumored to have a 20MP camera sensor. Toshiba announced world’s fastest-writing SDHC memory cards with writing speeds of up to 240 MB/s and reading speeds of up to 260 MB/s.

The latest patents: new Canon lenses, 3D camera and lens by Olympus, curved sensor by Toshiba

Canon filed a patent for a 70-200mm f/4 lens. Canon filed patents for a 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and 28-200mm (APS-C) f/3.5-5.6 IS (full frame) lenses.

New patents from Fuji, Canon and Hoya

FujiFilm filed a patent in Japan for a three layer image sensor with improved color reproduction and high sensitivity. Toshiba announces its own back illuminated 14.6 MP sensor
