First leaked picture of the upcoming Olympus PEN E-PL7 camera

This is the first leaked image of the upcoming Olympus PEN E-PL7 camera courtesy of Digicame-info. I already published portions of the camera’s manual back in May. The E-PL7 specifications can be found here. The official announcement will be on August 30th.

Sigma lenses rumored for Photokina: 24mm f/1.4 Art and 14-24mm f/4 with OS

For Photokina in September Sigma is rumored to announce the previously rumored 24mm f/1.4 Art lens and a new 14-24mm f/4 with OS. The 24mm lens will be priced at $1,099 and the 14-24mm will be $1,199. The 14-24mm will have an 82mm filter ring.

After the success of the 35mm f/1.4 and 50mm f/1.4 Art versions, a new 24mm lens would be the next logical step. There were also rumors for a new 85mm f/1.4 lens, but I have not heard anything on that model. Sigma may also announce the future development of a new 24-70mm f/2 lens.

Upcoming Olympus M-Zuiko Digital PRO lenses

In the latest financial report Olympus published their plans to release the next three M-Zuiko Digital PRO lenses:

The Olympus M-Zuiko Digital 40-150mm f/2.8 PRO lens is scheduled for the second half of the fiscal year 2015 (late in calendar 2014)
The Olympus M-Zuiko Digital 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO and Olympus M-Zuiko Digital 300mm f/4.0 PRO lenses are both going to be released in fiscal year 2016 (calendar year 2015)

The rumored Sony a5100 mirrorless camera will be announced on August 19th according to the official Sony Hong Kong website. The pictured camera is labeled “a5100” and looks identical to the current a5000 model.

Ubergizmo found a Sony press invitation for the IFA show in Berlin with a picture of a (new?) lens camera module for smart phones – maybe the previously rumored QX30 will be announced during the show (the press conference is scheduled for September 3rd, 2014).
