In my humble report from PDN PhotoPlus 2013 I had the opportunity to meet and briefly interview Myko, the creator of Multistitch. The YouTube video I did at this time gave a brief overview of the product's essential functions. Today, I am here to present you with a much more in-depth look at Multistitch and its functions.

On March 7th, I had the opportunity to further interview Myko the creator of Multistitch at Fotocare in NYC. Fotocare has many interesting events which I would highly-reccomend since they usually bring in unique products for demos which go beyond the standard Nikon or Canon rep coming to town. It was an especially miserable day out weather wise so if you were not able to make it, the video presentation covers this material. Also at the end of this article, there will be a link to a Dropbox folder with the sample images from this article.

Olympus to announce E-P5 and E-PL6 cameras

According to digicame-info Olympus will soon announce two new mirrorless cameras: E-P5 and E-PL6. The E-P5 body only will be priced at ¥99,800 (around $1000), the E-PL6 body will cost ¥69,800 (around $700). No other specifications are available at that point.

New Kodak Pixpro mirrorless camera shown at the 2013 P&E show in China

At the 2013 P&E show in China Kodak had on display a new Pixpro mirrorless (interchangeable lens?) camera with a design similar to the Olympus PEN series. I could not find any additional information on this model. Few months ago JK Imaging got the rights to use the Kodak brand name on their cameras and they introduced the Kodak Pixpro S1 Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera (more S-1 images available here):

Sigma rumored to announce 135mm f/1.8 DG OS and 24mm f/1.4 DG Art lenses

In the past few months Sigma announced some very interesting lenses, including the world's first f/1.8 zoom. The latest rumors indicate that later this year the company will introduce also new Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG OS and 24mm f/1.4 DG Art lenses (the new Art line of Sigma lenses are designed to deliver the best image quality possible). An update for the current 50mm f/1.4 lens is also a possibility.

New Fuji entry-level mirrorless camera with X mount to be announced this summer

Digicame-info reports that Fuji will announce a new entry-level mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with X mount (update: NOT with a 2/3 inch X-Trans CMOS sensor inside). The official announcement will be this summer and the release in fall. The Japanese price is rumored to be around ¥70,000 ($700). I also received similar information: the new Fuji camera will be announced in July with a US price tag of $550.

Ricoh filed a patent application (2013-61573) for a 4.6-18mm f/1.8-2.8 lens (21-84mm equivalent) designed for a 1/1.7" size sensor.

Canon 400mm f4 DOE lens patent

Canon filed a patent (2013-64858) for 400mm f/4 DOE lens which could replace their current version.
