More images of the Kodak S1 Micro Four Thirds camera

DCFever published new images of the Kodak S1 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that will have a Micro Four Thirds mount/sensor, built-in Wi-Fi and a tilting screen. The camera is produced by JK Imaging who last year bought the rights to use the Kodak brand name. They are going to release also another compact model called ZS41 with a 4x, 28-112mm f/1.8-2.5 fixed zoom lens:

Olympus OM-D E-M5 sensor is made by Sony

Olympus poised to supply lens units to Sony as part of the deal that was reached last year: “The imaging sensor has already started to source from Sony to Olympus. And the lens and lens units will start to source from Olympus to Sony.”

Olympus was one of the brands listed in the “Ten Brands That Will Disappear in 2014” list.

New videos from Carl Zeiss on designing and manufacturing the Touit lens family.

“A new report from the investment banking firm Jefferies delivered a harsh assessment of Sony’s electronics business. “Electronics is its Achilles’ heel and, in our view, it is worth zero,” wrote Atul Goyal, consumer technology analyst for Jefferies, in the report, released this week.” (Source: NYT)

New: Rokinon 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens for Sony NEX cameras

Rokinon showed the first pictures of their 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens for Sony E-mount on Facebook (see also the video). The MSRP will be $299, release in July 2013. Last year Tokina announced a similar lens for Micro Four Thirds ($299), while Kenko’s version is 400mm f/8 and is available in various mounts ($250 – $265).

This is the new Leica “Mini M”
