Breaking: Fujifilm X-E1 full press release

The Fujifilm X-E1 is now official. Here are the available kit options:

Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. (President: Goosen Shigetaka) honor announced a new X-E1, Fujifilm year paragraph interchangeable lens digital camera. Keeping up with the pace of the market has been acclaimed X-Pro1, X-E1 uses the same X-Pro1 Fujifilm’s exclusive X-Trans CMOS sensor, high-specification organic EL electronic viewfinder, with built-in flash compact body and X-mount compatible Fujinon XF series lens product line. In addition, Fujifilm will this fall XF series lens group to expand from three to five, and will be extended to 10 in 2013 years, in order to better adapt to the needs of different customers.

Has a more portable body size, ultra-fast focusing speed of up to 0.1 seconds, combined with newly developed F2.8 large aperture zoom lens with optical image stabilization, X-E1 is the new X-Series product line stunning for. Pentax Australia: “good things are coming”

Pentax Australia promised on Twitter (via Pentaxforums) that “good things are coming” in reference to a question about a full frame Pentax DSLR camera. The company is expected to have 9 new press releases next week. Rumors are circulating about a Pentax 645D replacement, a new Pentax K-3 APS-C DSLR and the introduction of the DA 560mm f/5.6 lens.

The new Fujifilm XF lenses will be more expensive

An Australian online store published the prices of the two new X-Pro1 lenses that should be announce tomorrow.

  • Fujifilm XF 14mm f/2.8 R ultra wide-angle lens: AUD 899 (around USD 900)
  • Fujifilm XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 OIS zoom lens: AUD 699 (around USD 700)

For comparison, the previous three XF lenses cost AUD 639 (USD 600 in the US before the discount).

Fujifilm X-E1 announcement tomorrow (including the latest specifications updates)

In addition to the X-Pro1 firmware update and the two new XF lenses, tomorrow Fujifilm will announce also their latest X-E1 mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Here are few updates to the previously posted EX-E1 specs:

  • X-E1 will use the same 16MP APS-C “X-Trans CMOS” sensor as the X-Pro1 (max ISO of 25,600)
  • The X-E1 will have a 2,360k dots OLED EVF with a 1:5000 contrast ratio (similar to the Sony a99)
  • The optical part of the EVF will have a double ASPH element and diopter correction
  • The X-E1 body will weight 350 g (compared to 450 g for the X-Pro1)
  • The Mic input of the X-E1 will server also as electronic camera trigger

Fujifilm XF1 compact camera will not be announced tomorrow

 

It seems that the Fujifilm XF1 (or XP1) will not be announced tomorrow with the X-E1. I believe the camera will still be introduced for the 2012 Photokina show. Stay tuned for the official X-E1 announcement tonight (around midnight EST).
