Wells Fargo did it again (Olympus OM-D)

After a series of prematurely published news (Nikon D4, Fuji X-Pro 1, Canon G1x), Wells Fargo did it again with the Olympus OM-D:

“The new OM-D model will be offered in the United States, Europe and some Asian countries as the top model of the company’s digital mirrorless interchangeable lens camera series, selling for above 100,000 yen in Japan. The new model resembles the OM-1 film camera and is equipped with high-speed autofocus and image stabilization functionality as well as 16 megapixel resolution.”

First picture of the upcoming Olympus OM-D camera

On the first leaked picture of the Olympus OM-D camera we can see two of the dials on the top plate (previously reported here). The new camera is expected to be announced on February 8th, 2012. The price is expected to be around $1,100.00 in the US.

Adorama now taking pre-orders for the new Sony XQD memory cards

Adorama just opened their pre-orders for the new Sony XQD memory cards:

Shipping is expected to start next month. As of today, the Nikon D4 is the only camera that uses XQD memory cards. SanDisk and Lexar are officially not supporting the XQD standart yet.

Panasonic Lumix GH2 kit, G3 body listed as discontinued

Panasonic Lumix GH2 lens kit and G3 body only are listed as discontinued on B&H website. It will be interesting to see if Panasonic will make any camera announcements at the CP+ show in Japan next month.
