Topaz Labs released a new update to Mask AI

Topaz Labs released a new update to Mask AI: this update includes a new translucent processing model for fabrics and semi-transparent, non-reflective materials (e.g. think bride with a long veil). The update also includes a new toolbar for the trimap brushes and tools for improved workflow experience. Along with improved range for the color brush tools, there are several other tweaks and improvements.

There is no additional purchase required for this update for current Mask AI owners – just visit this page and download the update.

To promote the latest update, Topaz Labs is launching a new sale: Mask AI for $79.99 (regularly $99.99) from today Thursday, August 20 through Friday, September 4.

The Creator Bundle, which includes Mask AI, Adjust AI, and Topaz Studio 2, is also on sale through the same dates and is discounted to $129.99 (regularly $149.99).

Panasonic Lumix S5 mirrorless camera price: $1998, press release leaked

The North American price of the upcoming Panasonic Lumix S5 mirrorless camera will be $1,998 for the camera body and $2.298 for the lens kit. I am not sure I understand the logic here since the Panasonic S1 is also $2,000. The ISO sensitivity was not mentioned in the leaked specifications: 50-102,400 with an extended ISO of 204,800.

On September 2nd, Panasonic will also announce a new battery DMW-BLK22 ($89) for the S5/GH5/GH5S/G9 cameras.
