Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens officially released

The new Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art lens for Sigma, Nikon F, Canon EF and Sony E mounts will be priced at $1,399 and pre-orders are already open at Adorama and B&H Photo. Shipping will start on January 25th. The launching date of the Sony E-mount version is not determined yet. Sample photos from the lens can be found here.

Tamron raised the price of the very popular 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens for Sony E-mount

SonyAddict reports that Tamron raised the price of the very popular 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD lens for Sony E-mount to $879 (from $799). The lens was announced almost a year ago and it is still out of stock at Adorama, B&H Photo and Amazon. Back in May 2018 Tamron already issued an apology for not having enough supply to meet the demand for the lens. Reviews of the lens can be found here.

New Sharp Micro Four Thirds 8k camera on display at CES

Sharp has a new 8k Micro Four Thirds camera on display at the 2019 CES show in Las Vegas. This is what we know so far:

  • 8k at 30 fps in H.265 codec (Sharp is working on 60 fps)
  • Price under $5,000
  • No sensor info besides Micro Four Thirds format
  • 5″ inch touchscreen
  • 1 SD card slot
  • On sensor stabilization
  • Looks like the Blackmagic Pocket camera
  • Not officially announced yet (a prototype was shown at CES)
  • The official announcement is expected at the 2019 NAB show
