Fuji medium format digital camera rumored to be announced on September 16th

Rumors about a new Fuji medium format digital camera have been going around for a while, but today I received information from a good source that next week Fuji will officially announce a new medium format digital camera. This is what I know so far:

  • Medium format camera with a 50MP sensor (not sure if it will be mirrorless, but I doubt they will re-introduce the mirror after making fun of it for years)
  • The camera will be introduced with two new lenses, one of them will be a zoom (30-90mm most likely)
  • The official announcement is expected on September 15th or 16th (the date I got for the US is the 16th)

In case you missed the previous leak, here again the upcoming Canon EOS M5 mirrorless camera that will be announced on September 15th. Two different lens kits will be available: with the existing EF-M 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM and with the new EF-M 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens. The expected EOS M5 camera specifications are:

  • Built-in electronic viewfinder
  • Sensor: 24.2 million pixel APS-C CMOS
  • AF: dual pixel CMOS AF, Touch AF
  • The video engine: DIGIC 7
  • Continuous shooting: 7fps
  • ISO Sensitivity: 100-25,600

Fuji X-T2 camera now in stock

The Fuji X-T2 mirrorless camera is currently shipping world wide and is currently in stock at Adroama (with free overnight shipping).

Fujifilm Japan issued a notice about a potential delay of production because of high demand – it seems that this is now a standard procedure for every new product.

The Russian government agency Novocert has new registration for a Canon camera (code name PC2325) and EVF-DC2 electronic viewfinder. Since the rumored EOS M5 will have a built-in EVF, this filing could be for a new compact camera or another EOS M model with optional EVF.
