Tamron patents a 35mm f/1.4 APS-C mirrorless lens and two new Canon patents

Sony patents full frame mirrorless lenses designed for curved sensor

Sony filed a patent application in Japan (2013-61476) for a full frame 35mm f/1.8 mirrorless lens designed for curved sensors. The patent contains also calculations for 35mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.2 and 30mm f/2.0 lenses, all designed for a curved sensor. The latest patents from Sony, Canon, Olympus and Konica Minolta

Sony filed a patent 2013-54164 for 16-135mm f/3.5-5.6 and 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 APS-C lenses. Sony also patented (2013-50630) a half mirror that will not “black out” during exposure. Canon filed a patent (2013-57802) for a 50mm f/1.4 lens. The patent contains also calculations for a 50mm f/1.2 lens.

The latest lens patents from Canon, Tamron, Sony and Olympus

Canon filed more patents (2013-47780 and 2013-37339) for a 14mm f/2.8 lens (see previous patent here). Tamron’s patent 2013-44964 is for a 10-18mm f/4 lens for APS-C cameras. Two different version were described – with and without image stabilization.

Sony’s patents for a 35mm f/1.8 full frame E-mount lens, fast 24mm mirrorless lens

Sony filed a patent application (2013-37081) in Japan for a 35mm f/1.8 full frame E-mount lens. Another patent (2013-37080) describes a new 24mm f/1.8 and 24mm f/2.2 lenses for mirrorless APS-C based cameras.

The latest patents from Konica Minolta, Sony, Canon and Olympus

Konica Minolta patented (2013-15778) 12-42mm f/3.5-5.6 lens designed for Micro Four Thirds sized sensors. Another patent (2013-25202) describes a several other lenses for MFT: 26mm f/1.8, 19mm f/2.8, 17.5mm f/2.8, 16.6mm f/2.8; for APS-C: 23mm f/2.8, 18.7mm f/2.819.6mm f/2.8 and even a 28.7mm f/2.6 full frame lens. Sigma 25mm f/1.4 Micro Four Thirds lens patent

Sigma filed a patent (2013-3324) in Japan for a 25mm f/1.4 lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras. Sigma currently has a 19mm f/2.8 and 30mm f/2.8 lenses for MFT. Both models are currently on sale at 50% off (two lenses for the price of one).
