The latest patents from Canon: motorized camera mirror flip and 100x zoom lens

Canon filed a patent for a motorized camera mirror flip (instead of the spring loaded solution used today). The use of motor will not increase the speed, but reduce the vibrations inside the camera.

Canon filed a new patent in Japan for a 200-400mm f/4 and 280-560mm f/5.6 lenses with built-in teleconverter and image stabilization.

The latest lens patents from Canon, Pentax and Sony

The most interesting patent applications this week come from Canon: 6.7mm f/1.4, 3.6mm f/1.2 and 12mm f/1.2 lenses. Canon also filed patents for a 24-70mm f/2.8 IS and 24-80mm f/2.8 IS lenses (full frame).
