Pentax lens price increase coming to the UK as well

After the price increase in the US, the price of Pentax lenses will be going up in the UK as well according to this post on PentaxForums. I still have not seen the new prices on Jessops or Amazon UK.

Sony a37 listing appeared on Irish online store

A month ago Sony announced their new a57 SLT camera. The Sony a35 model has already been discontinued and is expected to be refreshed soon. An Irish online store had a listing for a Sony Alpha SLT-A37 camera kit priced at €649.99 and body only for €499.99.

Pentax to announce another cheaper mirrorless camera

Nikkei.com reported that Ricoh Pentax will announce another low-priced miorrorless camera (priced at  ¥50,000, around $600). Pentax already has the entry level Q model and the recently announced K-01 mirrorless camera, while Ricoh has the mirrorless GXR system. Via Digicame-info

Canon announces EOS-1D C, C500 and new lenses for NAB 2012

Canon to announce EOS C500, 1D cameras and new lenses at NAB 2012

During NAB Canon is expected to release a new EOS C500 cinema camera: “It is 4K at 120fps with EOS RAW via 3G HD-SDI… At 60 fps EOS RAW from the C500 is 12 bit. This drops to a still impressive 10 bit at 120p. The C500 also pumps out 1080p, 2K and Quad HD.”

Olympus filed patent for 14mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm and 22mm f/2.8 pancake lenses

 Olympus filed a patent 201268448 in Japan for a whole series of f/2.8 pancake lenses: 14mm, 16mm, 17mm, 18mm and 22mm. I don’t think Olympus will ever announce all of those products – manufacturers often file patents for multiple lens versions/calculations and release only one model at the end.
