Even with a new ASP-C sensor (which is great), this seems PRICEY…. Hmmm…

    • Thom Hogan

      Lower than a Coolpix A with a 16mp sensor and fixed 28mm lens ;~).

      • SteveHood

Latest rumor had the lens as 24-70mm f2.8-f5.6. A lot of money for a camera with an ILC kit lens built-in.

        • Thom Hogan

Well, when it’s officially announced I’ll have something to say.

      • Joey

Maybe that’s why the Coolpix A was Discontinued… Look for the same with the G1X III.

  • CG462

Zero interest in this camera at that price. Interested to see what the LX200 has to offer.

    • Joey

Could maybe see if it had a constant aperture of 2.8.

Over 3 years in development for this??

Canon is always out of the loop as they were on the G1X II, G5X, and G3X.

  • TurtleCat

They must be mighty proud of that camera…

  • silmasan

The M5 looks solid and about the same price with lens.

  • Joey

    LX200 all the way.

    Panasonic never disappoints.

Canon did with the I, then the II, and now the G1X III.

    • I just hope they improve the menu system and add the 20MP sensor

  • ZMWT

Expensive? It will be an APS-C camera, and cost same as Fujifilm’s awful X100F; so what’s the issue here? Performance wise, it will surely blow X100 out of water, and be far more versatile camera, a real DSLR substitute.

  • Aekn

Build it with a similar control layout to the original G1x and you could have a winner. The G1X II and all of Canon’s latest operate like toys.

    • Aekn

Saw the images of the camera. Are they nuts?

  • Tim Bambam

That’s more expensive than the latest Rebel camera line. I dont understand why anyone would spend that kind of money on a camera that isnt a dslr with interchangeable lenses. With so few people purchasing these kind of cameras the development money should have gone to the new mirrorless line.

  • Tran T

If the lens is sharp across the range then I might pick one up. Would love 4k but it’s Canon so that likely won’t happen

  • Jeff

best deal in Canon now is M100 for mirrorless or SL2 if one like DSLR

this camera definitely not worth $1200 unless it is waterproof as rumored

  • what the hell are they thinking? following nikons old foot steps?

    • HotDuckZ

      You just too poor.
