New patent from Olympus for a FT to MFT adapter

Few months ago Olympus did confirm their commitment to the Four Thirds format. The company recently filed a patent (2012-230323) in Japan for a Four Thirds to Micro Four Thirds mount lens adapter with built-in autofocus and image stabilization. This is not a surprise, since every manufacturer that has a mirrorless and DSLR cameras today also offers compatible lens adapters.

Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm f/1.8 lens announced

Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm f/1.8 lens announcement in few hours

The Olympus M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 17mm f/1.8 lens will be officially announced in few hours. The price of the lens is expected to be €499 (around $600), the lens hood will cost €60 ($70). Some more sample images can be found here.

Olympus filed patent for a tilt lens

Olympus filed patent 2012-199834 in Japan for a tilt lens similar to a Lensbaby. Based on the patent description, the lens will not be able to “shift”. In addition to Lensbaby, some photographers have also successfully used third party tilt-shift bellows on Olympus m4/3 cameras. Novoflex recently announced new tilt-shift bellows compatible with different mirrorless system via an adapter:
