Rokinon/Samyang still planning to release a new 50mm f/1.2 lens

A reader contacted Rokinon and asked about the previously rumored 50mm f/1.2 lens. Referring to a Facebook post from February 2014 where Samyang Asia said that they will not release such lens, Rokinon responded that they are still working on a new 50mm lens that will be released “very soon”:

Deal of the day: $75 mail-in rebate for Rokinon 24mm lenses

Rokinon is now offering $75 main-in rebate on three of their 24mm lenses (including their tilt-shift lens, all mounts included). Product must be purchased by October 31 and the rebate form must be mailed by November 30th, 2013.

New: Rokinon 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens for Sony NEX cameras

Rokinon showed the first pictures of their 300mm f/6.3 mirror lens for Sony E-mount on Facebook (see also the video). The MSRP will be $299, release in July 2013. Last year Tokina announced a similar lens for Micro Four Thirds ($299), while Kenko’s version is 400mm f/8 and is available in various mounts ($250 – $265).
