Canon USA has a new teaser, pretty sure it’s not photography related

Canon USA has a new teaser that does not really make any sense – my guess is that this is not related at all to photography (see the Canon logo used). Maybe a new printer? According to the countdown, we will know more on Tuesday but don’t hold your breath for a new camera or a lens. Here is the full text:

Sony/Zeiss and Mamiya rumored to release medium format digital rangefinder cameras

The current Mamiya 7 II medium format camera

I got an interesting tip from a very good source: Sony/Zeiss and Mamiya will both release new digital medium format rangefinder-styled cameras in the next 12 months. Sony is already producing a medium format sensor used in the latest cameras from PhaseOne and Hasselblad. I do not have any additional information for now.

Samsung is rumored to announce a new NX Achromatic (black and white) mirrorless camera

Here is some additional information on the upcoming Samsung mirrorless camera with a black and white sensor I already mentioned last week: Samsung will unveil a new limited edition version of the NX300 mirrorless camera with a black and white version of the same 20 megapixels sensor and no low pass filter (similar to the Leica Monochrom).
