DC.Watch interviews with Ricoh, Fuji, Olympus, Sony and Panasonic
After the DC.Watch interviews with Nikon and Canon, here is a quick recap of the remaining Q&A with Ricoh, Fuji, Olympus, Sony and Panasonic:
- No plans for GR zoom lens
- Pentax continues with the development of a full frame DSLR camera (no release dates were given)
- New K mount lenses coming in 2015
- There were some difficulties developing a macro lens for the Q system
- No word for the future of the GXR system or any information on a new mirrorless camera

Fuji interview – not a big surprise here: the company has currently no plans for a full frame or medium format cameras and will concentrate on the development of a high resolution APS-C sensors.
![]()
The interview with Olympus did not reveal any interesting information – it seems that most of the mirrorless camera manufacturers (with the exception of Sony) are running out of ways to improve their sensor technology and are mainly concentrating on new features and cameras with a more appealing design.

In the interview with Sony executives, the main topics of discussion were high-megapixels cameras, improved AF and future sensor development. Any plans for a Sony medium format camera were denied.

DC.Watch also interviewed Panasonic – they are also working on a high-megapixel camera and 8k video recording capabilities.
