I received those images of the not yet announced Pentax X-5 camera. Some specs were already published on photoprice.ca: the X-5 will not be a DSLR but a high-end point and shoot camera with 16MP and 26x ultra-zoom.

Canon announced two new compact cameras: PowerShot SX160 IS ($229) and PowerShot SX500 IS ($329). Canon also celebrates the production of 80 Million EF lenses.

Sony announced the development of a new Exmor RS sensor:
The “Exmor RS” is a CMOS image sensor that adopts a unique ‘stacked structure.’ This structure layers the pixel section, containing formations of back-illuminated pixels over the chip affixed with mounted circuits for signal processing, in place of conventional supporting substrates used for back-illuminated CMOS image sensors.
Olympus made an official statement that they are working on a new pro body for Four Thirds lenses:

Akira Watanabe, manager of Olympus Imaging’s SLR planning department, confirmed today that the company is definitely working on a body to deliver the focusing performance expected by users of the Top Pro lens series like the ground breaking 90-250 f2.8 fixed aperture zoom.
There are rumors for a new smaller 22MP Canon EOS 6D full frame DSLR camera that will be announced in October (it is unusual for a major company to make announcements just one month after Photokina).
