Pioneer to start producing digital cameras?

Tech-on (Japan) reports that the electronics manufacturer Pioneer has established a joint venture in Brazil and will start producing digital cameras. The production is expected to start later this year. WSJ reprots that the new digital cameras will be available for sale on the Chinese market. The goal is to reach 500,000 units by 2015.

Some more details on the upcoming Sony announcement:

Sony a65 and a77 cameras will also be announced. There is some talk about three new E mount lenses: 24mm f/1.8, 50mm f/1.8 and 55-210 f/4.5-6.3 but I do not have any details yet.  Sony will announce also new camcorders and other accessories.
