Samsung announcement on July 7th

I got some more info on the Samsung announcement – the new compact camera will be HZ30W:

  • Design like HZ series
  • 1/1.8″ CMOS sensor instead of a CCD 1/2.33″ (10mx?)
  • ISO 100-3200
  • Video Full HD
  • 5X optical zoom (24-120mm) with ring zoom
  • 3″ AMOLED
  • RAW files
  • It will call WB700 in Europe

The GX30 will be like K7, but with the GX20 design.

Continuation on the Samsung GX30 thread: In South Korea the official presentation will be the July 7th and will have 3 cameras:

  • GX30 (DSLR)
  • NX3 (Hybrid camera)
  • HZ30W / WB700 (compact camera)

After LG, Samsung is also preparing to launch a 12 megapixels camera phone Pixon 12:

Olympus E-P1 rumors recap

Here is a good recap of all existing rumors for the upcoming Micro Four Thirds Olympus E-P1 (% represents probability):

  • 12MP sensor. Some other rumor says there will be a 13 MP. 90% chance that it will be a 12Mp sensor and 10% that it will be a 13MP

New Eye-Fi Pro SD card(s) coming soon

I got a tip today about a new Eye-Fi SD Pro card(s). I was told that it would be worth buying without any further details (maybe they will now support RAW and TIFF formats?). Expected to be released in the next few weeks.

Interestingly today Engadget posted something about a new Eye-Fi card, but then the post was removed without any explanations. Here is the picture they had online for a short time:

  • Improved low light sensitivity

Samsung NX camera concept (Micro Four Thirds competition)

The E-P1 camera may be the first Micro Four Thirds camera from Olympus, but there will be competition from other brands which should lead to better products. Here is a concept for Samsung NX which is similar to Micro Four Thirds but using a larger APS-C sensor:
