
A follow up to my post from few days ago: during the Adobe’s earnings call yesterday, the company’s President and CEO Shantanu Narayen had this to say on their decision to move Photoshop to a cloud based subscription:

The new cloud subscription based Photoshop CC will be officially released on June 17th, 2013 and will include many new features like Smart Sharpen, Intelligent Upsampling and Camera Shake Reduction.
The Photoshop CS6 will be replaced by the cloud based Photoshop CC, Adobe announced today. You will no longer be able to purchase a CD or download a copy of the photo editing software.
