Fujifilm to announce X-A1 camera and XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS lens in the next few days

I the next few days (could be as early as tomorrow) Fuji will announce their entry level Х-А1 mirrorless camera which was described to me as "plasticy" and will come in four different colors. Fujifilm will also announce the XC 50-230mm f/4.5-6.7 OIS lens that was added to their roadmap few months ago. This will most likely be the last announcement from Fujifilm for this year. I do not expect the X-E1 to be replaced before the X-Pro1. The next major announcement (X-Pro2 with a new sensor?) will probably be at the 2014 CES show in January.

So the 10-24 won’t come out this year you think? On the roadmap it’s planned for 2013… 🙁

    • Not sure – maybe no new camera announcements in 2013.

If Fuji doesn’t announce a D400 by the end of the year I’m switching to Olympus!

Gee… I have been waiting for an wide angle zoom since I bought the Xe-1. That’s disappointing!

It says Winter 2013 here (same as in the roadmap really):

      Autumn 2013 for the 23 and 50-230mm.

      Spring 2014 for the 56mm.

fujirumors posted that the xe2 (same sensor x100s) will come before xpro2

  • This is not the information I received from my source. Of course those are all rumors.

this XA1 must be the ugliest camera of the decade, imho.
they just needed to make the XE1 with tiltable LCD and sensor based PDAF.

I don’t see how is this camera ugly, nice small compact design…

    xa1 , Olympus compact from 1980 surely?

This with a pancake lens would make a nice travel companion. X100s superlite. Same price, size and better IQ than any current smart phone.
