Come on!!!!! $1000US converts to around £600 possibly plus VAT would bring it to £700+. At that price it’s pretty expensive alongside other 50mm options, that goes without saying, put if the performance delivers as promised then it could be a lens which is sold out for months…

My Navy spilled the beans already: price in Japan will be JPY127,000 excl. tax i.e. USD1,250 or EUR1,080 (incl. VAT).

If true 127000 Yen converts to around £900 including VAT. At that price I’ll be waiting a year for the price to drop. I don’t consider that altogether reasonable for a 50mm. Thousands might disagree however…

    • The US price is usually lower, which is how I got to the $1000 price tag.

Much better lens than the new Zeiss 55mm for Sony, which costs the same.

Wow looked at images they all look good from Sigma to Zeiss. I thinks it maybe sharper than my 35mm/f1.4 ‘Art’
