In this side-by-side PD array, the area of the G colour filters is two times that of the B and R colour filters. (b) A schematic diagram of a three-dimensional, multi-stacked, organic-on-Si hybrid CMOS colour image sensor. A G OPD is placed on top of the B and R colour filters. The G OPD detects the amount of G light, after which the underlying Si PDs selectively detect the amounts of B and R light through the B and R colour filters, respectively.
