Panasonic GF2 to be announced on November 4th

The Panasonic GF2 will be announced on November 4th (Thursday). There are still no reliable specs or any other details for this camera, except that it will have the 12MP sensor from the Panasonic G2 and it will be smaller in size. This will be the first major announcement since Photokina ended over a month ago.

Tamron to release a new AF 18-270mm VC lens

Tamron is working on a new version of its current AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens that should be released soon. Initially this lens was scheduled to be released at Photokina, but then it was delayed. The new lens is expected to be significantly smaller than its predecessor (the current model weights 550g|19.4oz).

Mysterious Olympus device submitted to the FCC

The device above was recently submitted to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) for approval. Engadget speculates that this could be a GPS unit or file transfer device for the Olympus PEN system, since it matches its accessory port located below the hot shoe. Panasonic GF2

Panasonic GF2 camera (replacement of the GF1) will be announced this week. The new GF2 should be the smallest mirrorless camera to date and will use the Panasonic G2 12MP sensor (Panasonic already confirmed that they will not use the 16MP sensor form the GF2). Korean Radio Research Agency already has an entry for a “Panasonic PKL-DMC-GF2” camera:
