Canon 5D Mark IV cameras are alreay being shipped from Japan

Canon 5D Mark IV cameras are already being shipped from Japan for the official announcement next week on August 25th (screenshots via tinhte.vn). The updated list of camera specs can be found here. In addition to the new 5D, Canon will also announce two lenses and several accessories.

Big Canon announcement on August 25th, 5D Mark IV camera price: €3,799

Canon will announce the Canon 5D Mark IV DSLR camera plus new lenses and accessories on August 25th, somewhere between 5-7 am European central time. The price of the 5D Mark IV in Europe will be €3,799 (almost $4,300, US pricing is usually lower). For reference, the 5D Mark III currently sales for 2,599 after $200 discount.

That “leaked” picture of the Canon 5D Mark IV camera was fake

I can confirm that the picture of the Canon 5D Mark IV camera that circulated the Web few days ago was fake. How do I know? I talked to the person who photoshopped it. The camera and specs are still real and the official announcement should be coming soon (at the end of August).

Canon and Sony also rumored to raise prices in Europe

Similar to Nikon, Canon and Sony are also rumored to raise their prices in the UK and/or in Europe this summer – in some cases up to 20%. Check out the latest prices and availability at Wex Photographic, Jessops, Calumet, Amazon UK and Amazon Germany. Canon recently cut their profit forecast as a result of post-Brexit yen strength.
