Japan patent update: vari-angle LCD screen from Olympus and organic sensor from Fujifilm

Olympus filed a patent in Japan (2011-259166) for a vari-angle LCD screen that can be flipped to pretty much any camera side/angle: In addition to the US patent for an organic sensor, Fujifilm filed a similar patent in Japan (2011-253861). Olympus is developing a brand new Micro Four Thirds camera concept, E-5 successor

Olympus announces M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 EZ lens

Amid its financial woes, today Olympus announced a new weather sealed powerzoom M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 EZ lens (35mm equivalent: 24–100mm). The new lens will be available in mid-January 2012 for $499.99.
