
Here is what to expect from the major camera/lens manufacturer in early 2016. Most of those announcements will be made during the CES (January) and CP+ (February) shows:
Panasonic will resume the development of sensors capable of recording 8k video and wants to bring this technologies to consumer level cameras. The company halted their 8k development back in 2011, but now they are investing over $80 million in the next generation 8k image sensor that should be ready by 2018 (previous plans were for 2020).
