The latest lens patents from Canon, Pentax and Sony

The most interesting patent applications this week come from Canon: 6.7mm f/1.4, 3.6mm f/1.2 and 12mm f/1.2 lenses. Canon also filed patents for a 24-70mm f/2.8 IS and 24-80mm f/2.8 IS lenses (full frame).

This is the Hasselblad Solar that will be based on the groundbreaking Sony a7 full frame mirrorless camera. Considering that the a7/a7r camera body costs between $1,698.00 and 2,298.00, the new Hasselblad Solar will probably be close to $10,000 depending on the selected materials. Update: Hasselblad announced a new camera called Lusso.
