
Tamron’s latest patent is for a 10mm f/2.8 and a 10mm f/1.8 fisheye lenses for APS-C based DSLR cameras.

The previously rumored tele-photo zoom lens from Tamron is now officially announced (SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD) and as some readers have already noted, the focal length actually goes to 600mm. Tamron is rumored to announce a new 16-300mm lens for APS-C based DSLR cameras by the end of the year. This is a logical step after Nikon announced their Nikkor AF-S 18-300mm f/3.5-5.6G DX last year. Tamron currently has a 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 lens in their lineup.
Two new macro lens patents: Tamron 90mm f/2.8 and Sigma 180mm f/2.8. Another patent shows Tamron is also working on a 45mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens for Four Thirds cameras and another 60mm f/2.8 Macro VC lens for APS-C cameras. Olympus patented a 3D lens adapter that will achieve 3D effects with a regular camera and lens.

The Nikon rebates will be renewed next month, but many of the high-end lenses will not be included (end June 29th). The current Fujifilm rebates will not be extended (end June 29th).
