Sigma announced new line of cinema lenses, confirms new 85mm f/1.4 Art lens design

This is something I reported as a rumor few months ago - today Sigma announced a new line of cinema lenses that include 3 zoom and 5 prime lenses:

  • Sigma 18-35mm T2
  • Sigma 50-100mm T2
  • Sigma 24-35mm T2.2 FF
  • Sigma 20mm T1.5 FF
  • Sigma 24mm T1.5 FF
  • Sigma 35mm T1.5 FF
  • Sigma 50mm T1.5 FF
  • Sigma 85mm T1.5 FF

The interesting part is that the new Sigma 85mm T1.5 FF cinema lens has a new lens design - 14 elements in 12 groups compared to the 11 elements in 8 groups design used in the existing Sigma 85mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM lens. That is a clear indication of the upcoming/rumored Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art lens.

New Hasselblad XCD 30mm medium format mirrorless lens to be announced at Photokina

In addition to the already announced XCD 45mm f/3.5 and 90mm f/3.2 medium format mirrorless lenses (pictured above) for the X1D camera, Hasselblad will announce a new XCD 30mm lens at the Photokina show in two weeks - this is according to a recently published interview with Pontus Arvåsen (product designer at Hasselblad) - see this YouTube video at the 18:00 minute mark.

Hasselblad's CEO also promised new XCD zoom lenses.

Unfortunately the Irix announcement I reported about last week was not about the new Irix 11mm f/4 lens, but about the official release of their 15mm f/2.4 lens - the first deliveries of the Blackstone and Firefly versions are already on their way to distributors and retailers.
