The combination of a strong dollar, slow camera sales and the upcoming Black Friday is bringing some very good deals in the US. Nikon just offered a new rebate program and further reduced the price of the D610. Even Leica is now offering significants savings on the M 240 digital rangefinder and M lenses – something we have not seen in the past few years. Canon recently reduced the prices of their lenses. Fuji also offers some incentives and Sony brought back their a7 trade-in program.
The latest significant price drop is on the Olympus OM-D E-M5 camera – now listed for $599 at B&H, Adorama and Amazon. A big Olympus lens savings (up to $800 off) will be coming up for Black Friday on November 28th. Here are the details:

→ New Sony 1.5-inch 4.85MP IMX189AEG 9.78um x 4.89um pixels with global shutter sensor leaked online: it can record 6K video @ 240fps and 2K @ 16,000 fps, it also features “Active Pixel Color Sampling” and each pixel can sense three RGB colors. Keep in mind that this sensor will be used in future Sony Xperia Z4 smartphones and there is no indication for now if this technology will move over to the camera business.
