Sony has a new trade-in program for Sony RX series cameras:

Trade in your Smartphone, Camera, or Camcorder toward a new Sony RX100 ($50 Bonus), RX100 II ($50 Bonus), RX100 III ($50 Bonus), RX10 ($100 Bonus).
Choose which camera/kit you would like and click “Add To Bundle”.
You will see this item get added to your Bundle Summary on the right side of your screen. Then Click on “Add Bundle To Cart.”

40MP High Res Shots in Olympus cameras will not require a tripod in the future

In recent interview with dpreview, Setsuya Kataoka from Olympus mentioned that the latest pixel/sensor shift technology used in the new E-M5 II MFT camera that allows the capture of a 40MP High Res Shot will be improved significantly and will no longer require a tripod:

According to Setsuya Kataoka, future OM-D cameras will be able to create multi-shot high resolution images in such a short time that photographers will be able to use the feature handheld.
He went on to explain that he expected the R&D team to make rapid progress in the development of the High Res Shot feature and that in time Olympus will be able to create a system will take less than 1/60sec instead of the current time of about one second.

Sony did not announce any photography products at the CES and CP+ shows

Sony did not announce any new products during their press conference yesterday at the CP+ show in Japan. I believe Sony is the only company that did not reveal a single photography product during the 2015 CES and CP+ shows (with the exception of new action cameras). Sony was expected to release several new FE full frame mirrorless lenses. The company’s last “serious” announcement was the a7II camera at the end of November.

I personally would love to see a new Sony RX2 camera or at least a firmware update for the RX1.

Canon’s 120MP sensor is nothing new

The 120MP CMOS APS-H sensor Canon was on display at the 2015 CP+ show is nothing new – it was already officially announced back in 201o. The 2.2 µm pixel pitch sensor (29.2mm x 20.2mm, 13280×9184 pixels) can get 9.5fps “made possible by reading multiple pixels simultaneously at high speeds – a process Canon is calling parallel signal processing‘”.
