The Olympus STYLUS 1 camera is now officially announced. Shipping will start in December and B&H is currently taking pre-orders at $699.99. The camera is available only in black. Here are the basic specifications:

  • 28-300mm Equiv; f/2.8 Constant Aperture

Some Fuji rumors from the Photo Plus Expo:

  • New lens roadmap coming in early 2014 with new lenses
  • New fast, f/2.8 constant aperture, mid-range zoom and longer zoom lenses are planned
  • Some of the new lenses will be weather-sealed
  • Fujifilm is working on a new organic sensor
  • No info on a potential Fuji X-Pro2 release
  • A full frame Fuji camera is probably 1 – 2 years away
  • Fuji is not interested in competing on pixel count, but on pixel quality

The lenses are manufactured by Sakar – the same company that produced the Polaroid iM1836 mirrorless camera. Sakar is not to be confused with JK Imaging who is the manufacturer of the Kodak S1 Micro Four Thirds camera.
