Samsung reminded us again that they want to become “the biggest mirrorless camera vendor by 2015 with a more than twenty-percent market share“. In order to achieve that, the company will be slowly phasing out its point and shoot cameras production and concentrate entirely on mirrorless solutions: “low-end compact camera offerings will gradually be reduced, as we are now concentrating on the mirrorless segment” according to the WSJ.
Samsung recently announced three new mirrorless NX cameras and is planning to announce more mirrorless products during Photokina 2012.

SLR Magic plans to release a new 25mm T0.95 lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras and a new 35mm T0.95 lens for APS-C sized cameras (I assume for Sony NEX). The new lenses will be on the same quality level as the full frame SLR Magic HyperPrime 50mm T0.95 lens, which looks and performs very similar to the $11,000 Leica Noctilux – see also the sample images in this post:
The Lens/Focus Shifter is a low budget ‘follow focus’ product which attaches to lenses with circumferences from 176mm to 308mm, or lenses like the 50mm f/1.8 to the larger zoom lenses. The great thing about this product is that it attaches to these lenses without the need of rails, with the simple attachment mechanism it simply slides onto any size lens, making it a very flexible, low priced and innovative product.
