At the end of April 2021 Canon will announce three new telephoto RF lenses (previously reported here):

  • Canon RF 100mm f/2.8 L MACRO IS USM
  • Canon RF400mm f/2.8 L IS USM
  • Canon RF 600mm f/4 L IS USM

OM Digital: “we don’t do full-frame” (OM Digital will NOT join the L-mount Alliance)


For almost a decade Olympus has been making official statements that they will not make a full-frame camera (see this post, this post, and this post). Back in 2018 Olympus was invited to join the L-mount Alliance and they refused. A recent Sigma presentation indicated that a new member may join the L-mount Alliance in the near future.  Of course, some clickbait websites immediately made up “rumors” that OM Digital will join the L-mount Alliance, which of course is far from the truth.

Tomorrow, April 3rd, is a Four Thirds Day and OM Digital had a special live stream with Panasonic on YouTube where they confirmed again they will not be making a full-frame camera:

Kodak rumored to release a new mirrorless camera


After the Kodak One cryptocurrency didn’t go as expected and the $765 million government loan was put on hold, Kodak is rumored to be looking for new sources of executive bonuses by “going back to its roots“, changing its iconic logo, and jumping into the mirrorless market with a new camera system. Kodak’s CEO was reportedly making comments to senior executives: “if Sony can do it, anyone can do it” referring to the recent unexplained Sony market share gain in some of the stores in Japan.
