Kickstarter to revive the Primoplan f1.9/58 and Primoplan f1.9/75 lenses ends tomorrow

The Kickstarter project for the Meyer-Optik Primoplan 58mm f/1.9 lens ends tomorrow. So far over $780k were raised (the initial goal was $50k). In addition to the Primoplan 58mm f/1.9 lens, Meyer-Optik also included a new Primoplan 75mm f/1.9 lens for certain support price levels. Is Samyang behind the Irix lens brand?

Irix lenses started in March this year with a teaser and now they already have several lenses in their line-up. On their website, the Irix is described as “Swiss precision and Korean ingenious solutions that make a powerful mix“. There have been some speculations online that Samyang could be behind the Irix brand and I may now have the proof to back up this statement: the Facebook page of Samyang in Spain was recently changed to Irix Spain:

Hasselblad X1D shipment delayed again

Sony a6500 and RX100 V cameras to be announced next

Sony will soon announce two new cameras:

Sony a6500 mirrorless camera with 5 axis stabilization (replacement for the a6300 model)
Sony RX100 V compact camera (replacement for the RX100 IV model)

I expect the official announcement to be before the Photo Plus show in New York (October 20th- 22nd).
