What is next for Fuji? (Fuji X-E3, X80 cameras)
In the past 12 months (starting from January 2016) Fujifilm updated almost all of their camera lines (X100F, X-T20, X-A10, X-A3. X-T2. X70, X-Pro2, X-E2S, XP120) and announced a new medium format camera. Fuji recently updated their X-mount lens roadmap with two new lenses for 2018. So what is coming next?
The new Meyer Optik Gorlitz Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 lens is now on Kickstarter
The Meyer Optik Gorlitz teaser was for a new Trioplan 35mm f/2.8 lens that is already listed on Kickstarter and has reached its funding goal of $50k in just a few minutes. The Trioplan 35+ is the final lens of the Trioplan Trilogy, which includes also the Trioplan 100mm f/2.8 and the 50mm f/2.9:
The Trioplan 35+ is expected to be available at the retail price of $1,599 later this year but Kickstarter backers can secure the lens for a much lower investment. What backers will get is a groundbreaking lens.
Previously, it was thought too difficult to achieve the soap bubble effect in a wide angle lens. But Meyer-Optik engineers designed the new lens according to the historic Cook Triplet design but added two elements to boost the lens. The extra two lens elements is why Meyer-Optik decided to add the "+" to the name of the lens.
Update: Red, green and blue versions of the lens will be offered for certain support levels on Kickstarter:
