Sigma officially announced the price and availability of the Sigma sd Quattro H mirrorless camera:
A new interview with Sigma's CEO Mr. Kazuto Yamaki was published online. It seems that Sigma is interested in producing a mirrorless camera that can shoot video in the future (at the 7:40 mark):
Sigma's current line of cameras cannot shoot video as a result of the high data volume the Foveon sensor is producing and has to be processed.
A few months ago Sigma announced a new line of cinema lenses.
Here is a rundown of the questions asked in the interview:
A Czech store has listed the new Irix 11mm f/4 lenses for sale on their website with the following prices:
For comparison, the Irix 15mm f/2.4 lenses were priced 475 EUR for the Firefly and 700 EUR for the Blackstone version.
Irix lenses are now sold also on Amazon US (via third party resellers).
Irix is expected to announce a new 45mm f/1.4 lens, Irix ILA-FE2EF adapter for Sony and new line of Irix Edge filters.
Canon has a new patent for a lens with two mounts (one on each end) - you can basically reverse the lens and use it for macro photography (this is currently possible with the use of macro reverse adapters). Canon's patent indicates that the lens will have electronic connectors on both ends for aperture and auto focus control (something you cannot do with an adapter).
The Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera is now shipping and is currently in stock in the US (Focus Camera, Adorama) and in Europe (Foto Hans Keuzekamp). B&H, Adorama and Amazon should also get their shipment soon and with a price tag of $2,000 I doubt the E-M1 MII will be out of stock.
Update: Olympus issued a warning about a potential delay of the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera because of high demand... again.
Here are the first video reviews of the camera:

A reader sent me this graph from Credence Research that shows the global digital camera market revenue vs. units shipped forecast (2014-2023):
The graph confirms what I already reported a few months ago: there is a trend of rising prices of photo gear and unfortunately what we have seen so far is just the beginning.
