New Sony NEX 3/5 firmware update

A leaked Sony PDF document describes a new firmware update for Sony NEX 3/5/5C product line. I believe the letter “C” in the NEX-5C model indicates cameras for the Chinese market and should not be confused with the upcoming Sony NEX C3 model. Here are the details:

Canon takes a financial hit after the disaster in Japan

Canon profit droped 2% in Q1 of 2011 as a result of the disaster in Japan. Both profit and camera sales forecasts were cut for 2011. Olympus 6-24mm f/1.8-3.8 lens patent

Olympus filed a patent in Japan for a 6-24mm f/1.8-3.8 lens designed for a point and shoot camera (28-112mm equivalent): The ZX-1 has a similar i.Zuiko 6-24mm f/1.8-2.5 lens. Maybe Olympus is thinking of introducing a lower level P&S camera with a wide f/1.8 aperture.
