First picture of the upcoming Olympus PEN E-P5 camera

Last month I reported that the next Olympus PEN camera will look very much like the classic PEN F film model and the latest leaked E-P5 image confirms that rumor. The Olympus E-P5 will have a 16MP sensor (same as in the OM-D E-M5 model) and built-in Wi-Fi. The official announcement will at the beginning of May.

Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 lens now shipping, sample images available

DC.Watch published some sample images taken with the Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 lens on a Fuji X-E1 camera. The manual focus lens is available also for Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX cameras and can be purchased in black or silver on eBay (prices starting from $680):

Pentax working on a new professional APS-C based camera

In a recent interview, the Managing Director and General Manager of Pentax Ricoh China made some interesting statement, including the development of a new professional APS-C based Pentax camera. Mr. Tomoyoshi Shibata also confirmed that Pentax is working on a full frame DSLR camera that will be different than anything else available today. The current Sony, Canon and Nikon instant rebates will expire this weekend

The current Sony (up to $400 off), Canon (up to $500 off) and Nikon (up to $550 off) instant rebates are set to expire this weekend (April 27, 2013). Today Adorama started offering 6% in rewards on selected Nikon, Sony and Canon cameras and lenses.  The promo will run from 04/24/13 through 05/01/13.

Sony Cybershot DSC-HX50V announced: the world’s smallest and lightest 30x camera

The previously leaked Sony DSC-HX50V camera is now officially announced. Sony knows how to make small compact cameras and claims that this is “the world’s smallest, lightest digital still camera that packs a powerful 30x optical zoom range“. Ricoh GXR camera body and two lens modules listed as discontinued

The Ricoh GXR camera body, GRX + S10 lens kit and GRX + A16 lens kit are all listed as discontinued.
