There are already several new products announcements scheduled in the upcoming days and weeks ahead of the CP+ show in Japan (February 25-28): Panasonic (multiple products): January 19th Leica X-U Typ 113: January 20th Olympus PEN-F: January 27 Canon: first week of February Nikon’s announcement will be probably right before the CP+ show (compact cameras expected)

Nikon: the Samsung deal was a “hoax”, there was never even a talk about it

In a recent AP interview, Dirk Jesper (Product Manager for Professional Products and Product Planning at Nikon Europe) called the speculation that Nikon bought Samsung’s NX camera business a “hoax” and added that there was never even a talk about it:

The Samsung CES press conference is now over: no new NX cameras and of course no Nikon acquisition
