It seems that Sony is working very hard to capitalize on the growing smart phones market. The latest rumors describe a new device in the form of a lens that will have a built in sensor, battery and memory that attaches to a smart phone and transmits the captured images to the phone via NFC and Wi-Fi. The first unit is rumored to have the sensor and lens from the RX100MII camera (1″ sensor and 28-100mm f/1.8-4.9 Zeiss lens).
The Taiwanese NCC government agency has a registration for the Panasonic DMC-GX7 camera (see rumored specs). The official announcement of the new camera is expected in the next 1-2 months.

B&H and Adorama now have a listing for a new Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 superzoom camera (60x optical zoom). I could not find any official information on Panasonic’s website or anywhere else on the Web.

Fuji proudly displays the “Made in Japan” stamp on their cameras. With the introduction of new entry level models (X-M1) and the upcoming even cheaper X-A1 camera, the company is looking to cut production costs and diversify risk (remember the last major earthquake in Japan?) by outsourcing production to other countries. The latest rumors are pointing to another entry level Fuji mirrorless camera announced at the end of August. The new model will be called X-A1 and it will not have a X-Trans APS-C sensor. The camera will be sold at the WallMarts of the world which means a very low price point. The recently announced X-M1 body is listed at $699 – this will probably make the X-A1 to be priced below $500.

Adorama currently has listed the two different Canon EOS M kits (with 18-55mm and 22mm f/2.0 lenses) as “no longer available“. Another online retailer (OneCall) has also listed the camera as “currently unavailable“:
After the recent 50% price drop, the EOS M is listed as backordered at B&H, while Amazon only has discounted the 18-55 EOS M kit.
Two new OES M cameras have been rumored to be released this summer (see possible specs here). One of the models could have an EVF.
