Pentax working on second generation of the 645D medium format camera

The sensor inside the Pentax 645D camera ($9,995) was initially produced by Kodak, but in 2011 they sold the Image Sensor Solutions (ISS) business to Platinum Equity. Pentax Q price drops almost 40%

When the Pentax Q was announced a year ago, the price for a kit with a lens was set at $800 which was pretty high considering the camera’s specs. After the recent Pentax lens price increase, the price of the smallest mirrorless camera dropped by almost 40% to $499. The two lens kit now sells for $750.

Maybe Ricoh-Pentax will announce a new version during Photokina? Rumors about a new cheap mirrorless camera are already floating around.
