This “Pentax Open Day” scheduled in the UK on October 9th is most likely for the new K-3 DSLR camera

SRS Microsystems has a banner on their website for "UK first at SRS Pentax Open Day" on October 9th. The banner features a silhouette of a Pentax DSLR camera (most likely the K-3). This event is probably scheduled for the upcoming Pentax K-3 camera that is rumored to be announced on October 8th.

Hasselblad lens price increase coming on October 1st

On October 1, 2013 Hasselblad will increase the price of their H system lenses due to higher manufacturing costs (maybe the real reason is to cover the losses from the Lunar and Stellar cameras). Here are the details:

First picture of the new Pentax K-3 DSLR camera

Pentax K-3 rumored to be announced on October 8

A new Pentax K-3 DSLR camera is rumored to be announced on October 8th in Japan (Monday evening, October 7th in North America). I am still not sure if the previously leaked specifications are correct. Coincidently, Nikon is also expected to announce their new D610 camera on the same date.

Samsung NX300m camera manual leaked online

Last week I reported about a new Samsung NX300m camera. The NX300m manual is now available online and reveals a camera identical to the current NX300 model but with an improved tiltable LCD screen (tiltable up 180°, down 45°; the NX300 was up 90°, down 45°).

Samsung is also rumored to announce a new 16-50mm f/2.8 or 16-80mm f/3.5-4.5 lens by the end of this year and a new NX30 camera by April 2014.
