New Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di OSD lens (model A037) to be announced soon

Tamron will soon announce a new 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Di OSD lens for DSLR cameras (model A037). Here are the basic specifications:

Available for both Nikon and Canon mounts
Lens construction: 15 elements in 10 groups
Shortest shooting distance: 0.28 m
Maximum magnification: 1: 4.9
Filter diameter: 77 mm
Size: φ83.6 mm × 92.5 mm (for Canon)
Weight: 460 g

Tamron already has a 15-30mm f/2.8 DSLR lens.

Samyang developing 50mm anamorphic cinematographic lens

The Korean Film Council (KOFIC) published a press release confirming the development of a Samyang anamorphic cinematographic lens (originally reported on July 1st here and on Facebook). From the press release: “Anamorphic lens is an optical lens that compresses and converts wide-angle and wide-angle scenes into a standard-sized film area“.
