Sony finally released their new FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens (SEL400F28GM). The lens was originally announced in October last year. The US price of the lens will be $12,000 (€12,000 in Europe). For comparison, the Nikon 400mm f/2.8 lens is $800 cheaper at 11,196.95, the Canon 400mm f/2.8 is $10,000 ($2,000 cheaper). The optional drop-in circular polarising filter for the Sony 400mm lens (model VF-DCPL1) will be another €480. Shipping will start in September. Sample photos from the new lens can be found here.
