As some readers have already reported, the new L-Alliance was formed by invitation only (Olympus decided not to join) and the L-mount is not an open standard (Leica Camera AG is the licensor). Here are some quotes:
Olympus published several financial presentations for their Olympus Investor Day 2018 and it seems that they have further revised their future sales downwards (their Q1 revenue from mirrorless cameras was already down 11% YoY).
Maybe Olympus did a mistake by not joining the L-Alliance? The company did not have anything to show at the 2018 Photokina show, but they said they are planning some major announcements in 2019.
Here is their plan to get out of the current downturn:
Another new lens prototype was on display at the 2018 Photokina - Nisi 75mm f/0.95 FE lens. The lens will be available for Sony E, Canon R, Nikon Z and L-mounts.
Nisi recently announced a new line of prime cinema lenses.

In one of my previous posts, I briefly mentioned the new Viltrox mirrorless lenses for Sony FE, Fuji X and full frame DSLR mounts made by the Chinese Shenzhen Jueying company (they have produced different photo accessories in the past). Here is some additional information on the new lenses:
The $10 off offer for the new AI-powered Skylum Aurora HDR 2019 software is ending tomorrow (available for both Windows and Mac). Here are the details:
In addition to the two new lenses for Leica M-mount, Zenit is also expected to announce a new camera and new lenses for Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras in 2019. This information was provided by a company's representative in a recent interview with Cienam5D:
Zenit has displayed several new lenses in the past, including a Zenitar 85mm f/1.2 (full frame DSLR) and Zenitar 50mm f/1.2 (APS-C DSLR) and Zenitar 50mm f/0.95 (full frame E-mount):
The development announcement for a new Canon EOS R Pro “full-blown” mirrorless camera is rumored for January 2019, ahead of a potential official launch at a later date (maybe at the CP+ show). There are no specifications or additional details for now.
