Sony a77M2 camera announcement tomorrow, RX100M3 to be announced later

Tomorrow Sony is rumored to announced a new a77M2 camera – a replacement for the current A-mount a77 model. The a77M2 will have a new 24MP sensor, Wi-Fi, faster AF and improved EVF. Here are specs:

new 24 MP sensor
79 AF points, 15 cross points
Very fast tracking performance
12fps up to 60 frames/ 25 frames RAW & JPG, RAW 26 frames
Low light AF, f/2.8 vertical line sensor, new algorithm
Wi-Fi

The Sony RX100M3 camera will not be announced tomorrow as previously reported (this is why I generally do not like to recycle rumors from other websites, unless I know the original source). The RX100M3 will be announced in few weeks and it will have a new 24-70mm f/1.8-2.8 lens (not the previously rumored 28-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens). Here are the rest of the RX100M3 specs:

Samsung NX3000 mirrorless camera to be announced next week

The Samsung NX3000 mirrorless camera will be announced next week (between May 5th-8th).

Update: the NX3000 will have a lens with electronic zoom technology. The camera is designed to take selfies…

The latest Sony patents: Sony RX2 with 35mm f/1.8 lens and curved sensor?

Sony filed a new patent for a 35mm f/1.8 lens designed for a curved sensor. The rumor is that this lens will be for the upcoming Sony RX2 full frame camera that could be released this summer. More on the Sony curved sensor paper is available here:

Sony RX100M3 camera rumored to be announced next week

A quick update to my last post: the new Sony RX100M3 camera is rumored to be announced on Thursday next week (May 1). The third RX100 model will have a pop-up built-in EVF and a new 28-100mm f/1.8-2.8 lens (see patent here) – this will be a huge improvement over the current RX100 II model (with 28–100 mm f/1.8-4.9 lens and no EVF).

There is also the possibility of a new Sony A77M2 camera to also be announced next week.

Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art lens coming in October

A new Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art lens is rumored to be released in October 2014. The new lens will most likely be announced at Photokina in September. The price of the 24mm f/1.4 is expected to be higher than the current 50mm ($949) and 35mm ($899) Art versions. Still no information on a possible 135mm f/1.8 Art model that was rumored a while back.
